Group Homes
Our group homes are structurally designed to give you a feeling of living in a home away from home.
We have a shared modern living room with three to four bedrooms occupied by each Person-Served to give you the privacy you deserve. The rooms are cleaned regularly by dedicated residential workers. All the residents in our group homes are giving all the care and support they need 24 hours of each day. Each resident has their distinct individual support plan which are revised and modified periodically.
Our Goal
The goal is to help them achieve or improve on their life skills which could be cleaning(personal hygiene) grocery shopping, laundry, home keeping ,community engagement like visiting the library, recreational parks etc.
Objective
Each Person-Served is treated with respect, dignity, and confidentiality. They are also taught the importance of coexistence and how to live socially with members of the community
Supported Living
Supported living setting is usually based out of the group home
It involves person served , 18 years and older who would live independently or semi independently outside the group home – outside their family homes- who still need a little bit of supervision or help with some aspect of daily living. In this setting, the Person Served becomes a room mate to an individual or family registered with DRCS. The host is usual a good fit for our Person-Served.
The selection process for these hosts is usually very detailed. The prospective supportive hosts are registered with DRCS after extensive screening which starts from interested candidate submitting an application, participating in an interview, undergoing police background/vulnerable sector check for themselves and anybody in their household, 12 years or older, immunization record check for themselves and anyone 12 years or older.
